THE 10 YEAR CHALLENGE: HOW HAS THE WORLD CHANGED?
Social media in recent
years has become the most influential, impactful and fastest medium of
exchanging ideas and sharing content across the world among all age groups.
Among various crazy challenges which go viral from time to time, 10 years challenge
was one of those which went vigorously viral across the world that even pulled
some of the world famous celebrities into it like Ellen Degeneres, Miley cyrus
etc to name a few.
While this “ 10 years
challenge” was buzzing on the internet platform
which mainly involved people posting their photos 10 years back and
hence, a simple yet complicated thought struck me as to , if at all world was
on social media platform what would it
post for the 10 year challenge?
Further, let’s try to
sort this thought out by getting into the shoes of the WORLD itself!!
Talking about human touch,
back then during 2009, birthdays, anniversaries etc would be filled with
receiving wishes from loved ones and celebrating with friends and family; but yes,
now these special days are like any other normal day where people wish us only
when Facebook reminds them.
Coming to the
entertainment factor, until years ago, people would eagerly wait to get
together with friends and family for games, movies, tea, quick chats etc. Today
the only way people want to rejuvenate themselves is by being glued to their smart
phones and watching loads of web series, videos, browsing etc to such an extent
that they forget to notice even the daily beauties like sunrise and sunset.
While talking about schools,
it was the center for step by step learning back then during 2009. Whereas
today, children learn everything including languages, academic lessons, extracurricular
talents etc on digital platform which doesn’t make the conventional schooling
interesting and enjoyable to them anymore.
Extreme digitization
has changed the world from being “world
of humans” to “world of robots”.
And yes, “10 year challenge of the world” is way too complicated to sort out.
