Are you there granny?” shouted 16 year old Rachel as she scurried through Margaret’s hallway only to find her heartily rocking in the chair, smiling from ear to ear, deeply involved in Archie comics, her all time favorite pastime. Upgrading her liberty to authority, Rachel clutched the rocking chair, snatched the book from Margret’s hands and threw her a stern look. Not so surprised Margret, tiredly sighed and spoke, “Buttercup! This is the third time in a day. I know I live across the street and I also understand I am your personal diary but I too need a break to get scribbled all over. Just allow me a couple of hours and...

That’s how you collect to recollect anything here, right! Books help you know and learn; travel makes you learn and know. I do both which makes me a better “jack” of all and also “master” of some. So it’s consequential to be in demand, isn’t it?” Ananth, subtly smiled and nodded to the straightforward answer given by his long lost and just found cousin, Dr Vaidyanathan, when he casually quizzed about the constantly surging popularity of Nathan’s intellectual talks and advices in diverse fortes, across the country. In the flux of time, Nathan, who began his career as a humble professor at a profound college in ...

Samuel Richman, a man who was best known in his vicinity as the “statue of virtue” had reached a level of saturation in life. Once upon a time, the person of high spirits who was perpetually guided by impeccable morals had currently attained despondency and lost belief in the path of morality. Being an ex-army himself, the death of his sons, who were also soldiers, had challenged his belief in fighting for the motherland as he had realized drawing borders served no purpose when the entire planet was given to mankind. His strength was halved when his dutiful daughter turned physically blind, surrendering to domestic violence. For him, it was another moment of cruelty triumphing over kindness. The last ounce of spirit left in him was once again faded the minute he lost his support system, his better half in an air crash while returning from pilgrimage. One afternoon mentally broken & tired Samuel unconsciously slipped into deep sleep which paved way for an unusual dream invol...

Nothing can easily slide down my throat; I barely have any appetite.” Hearing her twenty five year old daughter, Clara, say this, Lilly, who wore a worried look on her face, as her dear child had not eaten properly since a week, sadly slumped back into the sofa beside her. Silently witnessing the scene, Stephen, Clara’s maternal uncle, who had just then arrived for his usual Friday pie and tea, entered the hall, settled back into the age old teak chair , the family’s honor that was passed down to them from generations and quizzed his niece, “ Honey! What’s wrong with you? How can anyone resist your mother’s apple pie and milk tea? Clara disinterestedly blurted with a faint tone,” Not when you’ve lost your appetite uncle Stephen. However please don’t hesitate to enjoy your pie”. Lilly served two huge triangles of hot pie with a big cup of tea to her brother with an expression which suggested that she was deeply bothered abo...

Befuddled? Worry not! It’s neither the promotion of the mono colossal sensation “KGF” nor a gold mining manual. Without beating around the bush any further, let me slide down straight to the point! “Inexperience is an experience in itself” , Captain whispered and continued, “Unless you experience the inexperience, how can you experience the experience?” ( Captain is my first and oldest friend for life. To enjoy his other interesting ideologies, do check the link attached- https://sahanaaswathanarayana.blogspot.com/2021/03/its-time-to-embrace-real.html )  He imparted this abstract wisdom to me when I hopelessly questioned him, “What inspires this existence to throw innumerable shocks and surprises at us without even giving heads up? How are we expected to absorb i...

This moment of light, instantly forced me to jump off the most dangerously crowded train, in the station called “LIFE”, which has blinded a huge truck load of us from noticing and journeying in the classic vintage express, that is certain to take us through the “splendor “of this sheer existence.  Oh! Do not be perplexed, it’s not a travel blog but at the end, shall surely buy us a ticket for a silky smooth journey of life. If this intri...
